The following is a press release from the Quezon City government.

The Quezon City government is accepting applications for the Quezon City Scholarship Program for upcoming school year 2026-2027.

From May 25 to June 5, eligible QCitizens may submit their scholarship applications through the QC eServices website. Applicants must be Quezon City residents, holders of a QCitizen ID, and must not be scholars of another local government.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte said the local government’s continued investment in QCSP is a means of creating long-term opportunities for the city’s young residents.

“In QC, we believe that education remains the strongest tool we can give our youth to achieve their dreams. Through the Quezon City Scholarship Program, we are not only supporting them financially, we are also shaping the nation’s future leaders and changemakers,” Belmonte said.

During the last school year, the city welcomed 9,377 new scholars under the program. College students comprised the largest number of beneficiaries at 93.84%, followed by vocational education students at 2.69%, senior high school students at 2.64%, and postgraduate scholars at 0.83%.

Among tertiary-level scholars, 88.93% were from low-income families and marginalized sectors.

Since 2019, the QCSP has supported a total of 50,165 students. A total of 15,108 have graduated and are now pursuing careers in various fields including education, engineering, business, healthcare, and information technology.

Belmonte underscored the growing reach of the scholarship program as proof of the city government’s sustained commitment to inclusive development.

“Every QC scholar represents a family given hope and a brighter future through education. As we continue expanding this program, we remain committed to ensuring that no deserving student is left behind because of financial limitations,” the mayor added.

Last year, Mayor Belmonte pledged to aim for 80,000 city scholars before the end of her third and final term as the city’s local chief executive.

Quezon City Youth Development Office head Dr. Eddilyn Dividina reaffirmed the office’s efforts and commitment to further expanding the beneficiaries of QCSP.

“The Quezon City Scholarship Program remains committed to reaching more young QCitizens. We continue to go to the communities and schools to guarantee that students who need assistance are supported and given the opportunity to pursue their education,” Dividina stated.

Earlier this month, applications opened for the city’s new scholarship subcategory, the Manuel L. Quezon Filipino Language and Literature Scholarship Program. The scholarship aims to support incoming college students, educators, and researchers pursuing Filipino language, literature, and related other disciplines.
