Yes, the Green Bay Packers were hit with some difficult injuries in 2025.

Guess what?

Their injury situation was no better or worse than most, and it placed them in the middle of the NFL in two key categories.

According to Sports Info Solutions, Green Bay finished 13th in the NFL in most games missed to injury.

The website also measures “Total Points Missed” due to injury. To determine this statistic, the website measures how valuable each player was to his team’s ability to score or prevent points, using Expected Points Added as the currency. That figure is then multiplied by the number of games missed due to injury.

Green Bay finished 14th in Total Points Missed.

The Packers finished the year with 15 players on the injured reserve list. Alphabetically, that list included safety Zayne Anderson, tight end John FitzPatrick, offensive tackle Travis Glover, cornerback Kamal Hadden, cornerback Nate Hobbs, center Elgton Jenkins, offensive guard/tackle Donovan Jennings, tight end Tucker Kraft, running back MarShawn Lloyd, wide receiver/cornerback Bo Melton, defensive end Micah Parsons, defensive tackle Jordan Riley, linebacker Kristian Welch, wide receiver Savion Williams and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt.

Parsons was without question Green Bay’s best player and losing him was undoubtedly an enormous blow to the defense. In fact, Green Bay went 0-5 after Parsons was lost to a torn ACL midway through the Packers’ Week 15 loss to Denver.

Kraft was arguably the Packers’ second-most important player on offense after quarterback Jordan Love. And Wyatt was arguably Green Bay’s third most important defensive player after Parsons and linebacker Edgerrin Cooper.

Jenkins was a starter at center, but the Packers’ offensive line play actually improved when Sean Rhyan took over at that spot. The rest of that the Packers’ I.R. list consisted of backups and special teams players.

Still, that didn’t stop Green Bay from playing the injury card whenever possible.

“To be at your best, you need everybody available,” Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur said. “And we always talk about your best ability is your availability and it’s tough when you lose some guys.”

Chicago missed the most games due to injury with 336. Detroit was second at 326, while Buffalo (297), Arizona (296) and Pittsburgh (279) rounded out the top five.

Green Bay was 13th with 237 games missed due to injury.

In the “Total Points Missed” category, Arizona was first with 266, followed by Washington (230), San Francisco (200), Buffalo (190) and Miami (182).

Green Bay was 14th with 136.

Perception is reality, though, which is why the Packers tried selling the notion that injuries ruined their season. Instead, the reality was their injury situation placed them in the middle of the pack.

“I don’t think it made it easier,” LaFleur said of the injuries. “But we’re not going to live in that world because all they are is excuses. We’re going to take the guys that we have, we’re going to put them in the best position possible and, unfortunately, we didn’t do a good enough job of that.”
