Oracle delivered fiscal third-quarter 2026 results that exceeded Wall Street’s expectations, posting revenue of $17.2 billion—a 22% increase from the prior-year period. Analysts had projected $16.91 billion. Non-GAAP earnings per share reached $1.79, beating the consensus forecast of $1.71.

The standout performer was the company’s cloud segment, which generated $8.9 billion in revenue—a robust 44% year-over-year expansion. Within that category, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure demonstrated exceptional momentum, recording 84% growth to reach $4.9 billion during the quarter.

The artificial intelligence segment delivered particularly impressive metrics. AI infrastructure revenue exploded by 243% compared to the year-ago quarter. Multicloud database services experienced an astronomical 531% surge.

The most significant indicator of future performance may be Oracle’s remaining performance obligation—essentially its contracted revenue backlog—which ballooned 325% to an extraordinary $553 billion. This forward-looking revenue pipeline represents one of the largest in enterprise technology.

Management updated its fiscal 2027 revenue outlook upward, providing shareholders with enhanced visibility into the company’s growth trajectory. For the upcoming Q4 2026 period, Oracle issued EPS guidance ranging from $1.96 to $2.00.

Wall Street Institutions Pile Into ORCL

The compelling growth narrative has attracted significant institutional capital. Axxcess Wealth Management dramatically expanded its Oracle holdings by 870% during Q4, acquiring an additional 602,230 shares for a position valued at approximately $128 million.

Jennison Associates amplified its stake by an impressive 2,062% in Q3, accumulating over 9.2 million shares. Vanguard purchased another 5.8 million shares in Q4, expanding its total position beyond 174 million units. Institutional stakeholders collectively control 42.44% of outstanding shares.

Sell-side analysts have responded positively to the results. Citigroup upgraded its price objective to $320 while maintaining a “buy” recommendation. Oppenheimer lifted its target from $210 to $235 with an “outperform” rating. The analyst community’s consensus rating stands at “Moderate Buy” with a mean price target of $261.46.

ORCL stock opened Friday’s session at $189.76, advancing 0.86%. Technical indicators show the 50-day moving average at $165.70 and the 200-day moving average at $179.91. The stock has traded between $134.57 and $345.72 over the past year.

Capital Expenditure Concerns Linger

Despite the impressive revenue growth, one concern remains prominent among some investors: cash deployment. Oracle is allocating substantial capital toward expanding data center footprint and computing infrastructure to satisfy surging AI workload demand. These investments have created pressure on free cash flow metrics, prompting caution from certain market observers.

Wedbush maintains an optimistic stance, contending that the market is undervaluing Oracle’s demand pipeline clarity. Other analysts highlight the 84% OCI expansion as proof that capital investments are already translating into tangible revenue acceleration.

Oracle’s NetSuite division contributed approximately $1.1 billion in revenue, representing 14% growth, partially attributed to newly integrated AI capabilities.

The company announced a quarterly dividend distribution of $0.50 per share, disbursed on April 24. This equates to an annualized dividend of $2.00 and a yield of approximately 1.1%.

Oracle’s fourth-quarter fiscal 2026 earnings announcement will serve as the next critical checkpoint, with market participants focused on cloud profit margins, data center expansion updates, and advancement toward the ambitious $90 billion fiscal 2027 revenue objective.
