President Donald Trump declared Iran's latest peace proposal "totally unacceptable" in a blistering Truth Social post on Sunday, signaling that negotiations to end the Iran war remain deeply deadlocked.
"I have just read the response from Iran's so-called 'Representatives,'" Trump wrote. "I don't like it — TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!"

Iran submitted its latest response to the U.S. peace proposal through mediator Pakistan on Sunday, according to Iranian state media — the most recent exchange in a weeks-long back-and-forth between the two sides. The response came days after Trump had publicly demanded an answer by Friday night, a deadline Tehran ignored, prompting Trump to accuse Iran of "playing games" and engaging in "DELAY, DELAY, DELAY."
The peace talks have dragged on for weeks, with both sides continuing to trade fire in the Persian Gulf despite a shaky ceasefire. The U.S. has sought the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and an end to Iran's nuclear program. Iran's latest response appeared to set aside nuclear issues until after the war ends, a condition at odds with Trump's core demands.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright told NBC News on Sunday that the U.S. was still waiting for a "clear resolution" from Iran. Trump's dismissal of the latest proposal signals the two sides remain far apart.
