Sydney Sweeney, Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Emily Blunt, Dwayne Johnson, Jeremy Allen White and several other Oscar hopefuls attended the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 16th Governors Awards Sunday night in Los Angeles to honor the 2025 recipients of AMPAS’ Honorary Oscars.
The ceremony lauded four movie industry titans — Tom Cruise, Debbie Allen, Dolly Parton and Wynn Thomas — for their lifetime contributions to the craft. Cruise, Allen and Thomas will each receive Honorary Oscars, while Parton will receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, which is also an Oscar statuette.
While AMPAS’ Governors Awards take place months before the organization’s annual Oscar ceremony, each of the recipients will be recognized at the 98th Academy Awards ceremony, which is set for March 15, 2026, in Los Angeles.
Below are images of some of the biggest stars attending the 16th Governors Awards, which is being held at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Ovation Hollywood.
